Author’s Writing Passion Fueled in Third Grade

Teaching is a demanding profession and most enter the field not for monetary gain, but to see young people realize their full potential in life.
And teachers love it when former students, now pursuing their passions and dreams, return to the community to share their experiences, successes, and insights.
Jan Uffelman, former Ochoco Elementary School teacher who retired in 2003, had a visit from just such a student this summer. Benefitting from her insight, encouragement, and mentoring, he was happy to share his experiences with both Uffelman and elementary school-age students in the community.
